Thermal Effect of Thin Elastic Plates

چکیده
Thermal effect refers to the heat released or absorbed by object in changing process at a certain temperature. In this process, stress inside material will change. produced when temperature changes, because of external constraints and internal between various parts, so that it can not completely free expansion contraction.

Edge layers in thin elastic plates
Monique DAUGE and Isabelle GRUAIS Abstract. This paper deals with the asymptotics of the displacement of a thin elastic plate when it is submitted to various boundary conditions on its lateral face: namely, hard and soft clamped conditions, and hard support. Of particular interest is the in uence of the edges of the plate where boundary conditions of di erent types meet. The singular perturbati...
متن کاملStructural optimization of thin elastic plates: the three dimensional approach
The natural way to find the most compliant design of an elastic plate, is to consider the three-dimensional elastic structures which minimize the work of the loading term, and pass to the limit when the thickness of the design region tends to zero. In this paper, we study the asymptotic of such compliance problem, imposing that the volume fraction remains fixed. No additional topological constr...
متن کاملEffect of surface stress on the stiffness of thin elastic plates and beams
Nanomechanical doubly-clamped beams and cantilever plates are often used to sense a host of environmental effects, including biomolecular interations, mass measurements, and responses to chemical stimuli. Understanding the effects of surface stress on the stiffness of such nanoscale devices is essential for rigorous analysis of experimental data. Recently, we explored the effects of surface str...
متن کاملThermoelastic Relaxation in Elastic Structures, with Applications to Thin Plates
A new result enables direct calculation of thermoelastic damping in vibrating elastic solids. The mechanism for energy loss is thermal diffusion caused by inhomogeneous deformation, flexure in thin plates. The general result is combined with the Kirchhoff assumption to obtain a new equation for the flexural vibration of thin plates incorporating thermoelastic loss as a damping term. The thermal...
متن کاملThermal Stability of Thin Rectangular Plates with Variable Thickness Made of Functionally Graded Materials
In this research, thermal buckling of thin rectangular plate made of Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) with linear varying thickness is considered. Material properties are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The supporting condition of all edges of such a plate is simply supported. ...
